Biography:
Mr. Gamba was admitted to The Florida Bar in 1976 and has been Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar since 1986. A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where he graduated with honors. Mr. Gamba was among the first Hispanic trial lawyers in South Florida. A skilled trial attorney, he is a frequent speaker before the media and legal organizations.
Mr. Gamba has served on the Executive Council of the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar; he is a former chair of a Grievance Committee of The Florida Bar; former President of the Cuban American Bar Association; former President of The Miami-Dade Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates; and is former director of the Dade County Trial Lawyers Association and the Dade County Bar Association. He also served on the 11th Judicial Circuit Nominating Commission, entrusted with screening, interviewing and recommending applicants to the governor for both Circuit and County Court judicial appointments. He served as 2011-2012 President of FLABOTA, the Florida Chapters of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an organization composed of an equal number of plaintiff and defense trial lawyers dedicated to preserving the independence of the judiciary and the right to trial by jury.
Mr. Gamba is a member of The Florida Bar, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Florida Justice Association, the American Association for Justice, the Miami Dade Justice Association, the Cuban American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association, the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Spellman-Hoeveler American Inns of Court.
He additionally serves on numerous professional and civic boards, including Florida International University College of Law Dean’s Advisory Council.
He became Board-certified by The Florida Bar as a Civil Trial Lawyer in 1986, and has been re-certified numerous times since then.
He has been a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rated lawyer for twenty-five years and has been voted for many years as a Florida Super Lawyer, and recognized in Florida Trend Magazine’s Legal Elite, and as a Top Lawyer in the South Florida Legal Guide. He is also recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the field of medical malpractice.
In 2015, Mr. Gamba received the Florida Chapters of the American Board of Trial Advocates “Trial Lawyer of the Year” Award.
He is, first and foremost, a trial lawyer who is dedicated to trying cases to juries.
